A Yellow Rose of Friendship

I cut this rose from my garden today and wanted to share it with all of you. Yellow roses stand for friendship. Thank you so much for your friendship and for allowing me to have a "sad" moment yesterday. I'm always honest and sometimes blunt with my words and for some reason writing helps me to get it all out. Maybe it isn't always a good thing, but I speak and write from my heart. All your good wishes and hugs really mean a lot. Just know that I send them back to you always. Blessed are we to have each other. Blessed are we that we can reach each other through such an amazing tool as blogging.

Hugs and love,

So Maybe... I'm just being a little Poo Poo

So maybe it's been a really crappy year.
So maybe I'm having a hard time being in the Christmas Spirit because I've had so much loss and sadness around me.

So maybe I really don't care about "stuff" as much as I care about people and critters. Therefore I gave away so much "stuff" this year and I don't miss it.

So maybe I'm ready to tell 2009 to kiss my butt!!!!! Should it kiss your butt too??
So maybe everyone around me is sucked into the same vortex of crap, despair, worry and sickness.
So maybe I've never been more ready for a crappy year to end.
So maybe I'm ready for ZEN in 2010!!!!!! A wake up call this year has been? A reality check? What really is important to us all?
So maybe I'm always a pretty happy, go lucky, silly, goof ball and dorkwad, but lately I feel like I've been thrown under the bus along with all my friends. Will it end?? What's going on???
So maybe, as hard as I try, as much positive thinking I do, as much as I'm grateful for, as much as I want happy, I"m just being a little bit poo poo.
How about you??? Are you feeling poo poo this year too?
This bunny ornament is from The Merck Family's Old World Christmas Collection. On the tag it reads, "Rabbits are very shy and frail animals. Having no natural means of protecting itself, the rabbit is therefore dependent on the kindness of man and other animals for its survival. At Christmastime the rabbit represents the renewal of this faith in others to provide guidance, protection and kindness.
I know one thing... I'm grateful for the kindness and friendship of others that I have found through blogland. I'm grateful for the kindness and friendship of others near me. I'm grateful for the faith I have in others and their kindness to me.
Sending out lots of hugs to you all. Sending out lots of faith in us all to provide kindness whenever we can.
Sending out a big group hug of protection from sadness.
Love to you all,
shell

Wild Hare Wednesday! A Decorating Wild Hare!

So Sugie... apparently a Wild Hare is when you get a crazy idea to do something. Sometimes it turns out good and sometimes it doesn't turn out good. Mama got a Wild Hare to wash the slipcovers on the couch and they shrunk! She's always wanted white slipcovered furniture and this was her excuse to get it. What do you think?
I really like it Razzy. Better make sure your paws are clean. Mama said daddy's paws are dirty so she got an extra cover for his chair so she can wash them more. Mine are clean Sugie.
Wow she even got a two new white chairs and an ottoman.
Wait a minute!! Is that Joe the painter??? Oh my gosh! Mama really did get a Wild Hare!
Joe the painter is painting over the hand painted mural on the ceiling and on the wall!!!!!
So there you have it. My Wild Decorating Hare. hee, hee, hee. I'm so sick of pink, green and yellow. My house is 8 years old and it's needing a "freshening." I'm going back to my first true love, which is calm, serene and clean. I love white, beiges and creams. Stay tuned as the story continues.
What are your Wild Decorating Hares? Have you done anything so bold as to change everything, paint over murals, have a massive yard sale, gone from clutter to minimal? Do share! I would love to hear!

A Hopp'in and a Swapp'in

Isn't this the cutest little image? I just love it. It originally was in color, but I changed it in my computer to make it more sepia toned. I'm participating in the ornament swap at Quilt and Stitch Marketplace (click here) and this image is going to be part of my ornament. I can't wait to show you the finished piece.
This was my little contribution to the art exchange I participated in. I made this little Friends Stitchery for Charlene at My Hearts Ease (click here). The crochet lace at the bottom is vintage and the those are glass pearls from Swavorski. I love those things!
Finally, I wanted to give you a sneak peak of the floss I'm using for the secret project at the 12 Days of Christmas Shop Hop. Remember, starting this Friday, November 27, visit my website each day for your FREE stitchery pattern. At the end of the 12 days I'll show you the finished project and there will be prizes! Be sure to visit Make Mine Pink (click here) to participate in the shop hop and win prizes there too! While you're at it, you can get all your Christmas shopping done without leaving home!
Don't forget Wild Hare Wednesday kicks off this week with some decorating Wild Hares! I'll be interested to see what your wild decorating hares have been!

Wild Hare Wednesday!

Razzy... what's a Wild Hare?
I'm not really sure Sugie. I think they might be like us, but they don't get to live in Bunnyville. Maybe they are naughty bunnies.
Well if they don't live in Bunnyville, where do they live?
Sugie all I know is that I hear daddy say, "Mama's got another Wild Hare." There must be hundreds of them as I hear daddy say that a lot. I wonder if they get to chew baseboards. Hmm....
Please join me every Wednesday as I present Wild Hare Wednesday. Each week we can share thoughts on the Wild Hares we get. It might be decorating, hair styles, vacations, car purchases, clothing, you name it! It will be so fun to share our Wild Hares!
Next week we'll be kicking it off with my latest decorating Wild Hare!

12 Days of Christmas Shop Hop

Well it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. I have mixed emotions about Christmas this year. Frankly it's been a really, really crappy year for myself and everyone around me. Yet we all still have so many things to be grateful for including the fact that we were by each other's sides, holding each other's hands and giving big giant hugs when needed. I use to get excited about all the Christmas decorations in the stores, but now it all looks like plastic "happy crappy" made in China. It's just junk. It's not special or meaningful or magical.
With that being the sentiment of many of my friends, I would like to invite you to a place where things are still magical and meaningful and beautiful. Please join me and my fellow pink sisters at Make Mine Pink for the 12 days of Christmas Shop Hop. There's prizes, lot's of fun and most of all meaningful, beautiful gifts by women in business that followed their bliss, their dreams and their hearts.
Starting the day after Thanksgiving, please visit my website each and every day for a new FREE stitchery pattern. The pattern will only be available for one day. Collect all 12 and then I'll show you the finished project that you can make from the 12 designs. Of course there will be prizes from me too as I'm grateful for antibiotics making Mr. Fuzzy Pants better. Thanks to all of you for your well wishes. They always help.
12 days of something to look forward to that is fun and festive. Something meaningful to be shared with you, my friends.
Hugs,
shell
This week IGF Razzy still being with me.

A Sick Bun, A Show Done and an Art Exchange

So I get done with the Holiday Show last Sunday and I'm relieved that I can get back home and get to working on the next major set of deadlines, get my house back in order, get all my paperwork caught up and get caught up on my blog reading. But what happens??? Razzy stops eating on Monday morning. Not good! So we get an appointment with the vet that as many of you know is a 2 1/2 hour drive one way. Needless to say we left at 6:30 am on Tuesday and got home at 8:30 that night. Oh wait, I got home, Razzy had to stay in the hospital. He's got a urinary tract infection. David picked him up on Wednesday as he had the day off and Razzy is home and doing much better thanks to some antibiotics.

Here's my booth at the show, which was sandwiched between two food vendors. Let's see "all white and textiles" next to food and people sampling food. Comical to say the least. Can you see the little bowls of embroidery floss on the table? If I had a dollar for every time someone came up and thought it was food to sample, I would be rich! All in all it was a great show and I met lots of new customers and people that liked my patterns and my "white design style." Oh and note to self that this outfit makes me look fat.

I'm participating in an art exchange and when I got home, I started getting some art in the mail. I can hardly stand how much fun it is to get art in the mail!!!
This gorgeous piece above came from Tracie at My Petite Maison . It's filled with lavender bath salts from France! I love it!

Next, wrapped in this pretty little bundle with a handmade card (with bunnies)
was this bunny scissor keeper, ATC, and scissor fob from my dear friend Donna at
Brynwood Needle Works. Donna truly spoiled me with these!

Yesterday came this fun print from Jenn Mcglon at Noodle and Lou Studio. I think I'll put it on my vision board to remind me to imagine the possibilities before me.
Thank you so much everyone! This has been a blast so far. I'll post soon about what I sent to my exchange friend. For now... back to the paperwork. Ick.
Hugs,
shell

Mr. Fuzzy Pants Turns 5

Five years ago you were born. Five years ago you came to live with me on New Years Eve. You were such a tiny little thing that slept in a little box. Even though I didn't know your sex back then, I would call you Raspberry, my chocolate covered raspberry.

You were so tiny and sweet. (pay no attention to the hideous hairstyle... what the heck was I thinking! Just look at the cute bunny)

You grew and grew and grew and turned into a chocolate chunky bunny. You're full of love and sweetness and have the most gentle personality that makes the most horrible day a bright ray of sunshine when I see you.

You melt my heart and bring me such great happiness all for nothing. Well ok... maybe some carrots, papaya, fresh veggies and some nice hay...oh and a room that's all about you with clean bathroom facilities and toilet paper rolls to chew.

I love you Mr. Fuzzy Pants.
Happy 5th birthday.
Mama

This week IGF Razzy and being blessed with such a gift of unconditional love.

Decorating with my Designs

Ever have a time in your life where the coolest stuff is so full in your brain and you can hardly wait to get it out??? When you wake up in the morning and you're so darn excited to get to work on something that you can't sleep anymore? When all you can think about is stitching, creating and putting a "look" together? Hello! I'm there! Here is my Rococo Roses Number 1 Pattern. I've put it together with a few of my most favorite things I'm decorating with. Then WhammO! A whole decorating scheme comes together. Then you take that look and revamp your website (click here) to match what is in your beanie little head.
Look out...wait till you see where I'm going!

Pardon the Interruption

Please pardon the interruption to our regularly scheduled Sunday post as Mama is stitching like a crazy lady trying to finish samples before she has to pack them for the show set-up on Thursday. Please check back with us for our Wednesday post. She might have it together by then. Ok...maybe not, but we're hoping.

Lady Hannah Goldenhare - Nothing Gold Can Stay

Hello dear friends, It's been a minute hasn't it? My last post was over a year ago. I decided I wanted to stay in my bubble where it...
